Theory Test

The Motorcycle Theory Test can be book either on-line, www.dsa.gov.uk or by ringing 0300 200 1122 and selecting option 11

The minimum age is 16, and will still cover you for a motorcycle once you have turned 17.

The test is in two parts

Multiple Choice - To help you prepare for this section of the theory test it is advised that you purchase ‘The Official Theory Test for Motorcyclists’ - published by the DSA and available in good book stores and direct from the DSA

Hazard Perception - In this section of the test you will be shown several video clips on a computer and asked to click the mouse button when you see a hazard developing. Again it is advised that you practise this at home using the Hazard Awareness CD from the DSA or good book stores

The Theory Test is conducted in Crown House in Ipswich. You need to arrive 15 minutes before your test together with your driving license. Remember to take photo ID if your license is the old paper type.
